Hi Wayne,
Congrats on buying a very nice xmtr, and on finding out it's biggest
fault, the pwr xfmr. You should be wary of buying another from an HT-32
or HT-37, they do go bad often. I have bought one that way, and lucked
out on it, but did go SS on HV & LV rectifiers & removed the 2 5v
windings completely from the ckt. They often shorted between the HV & 5v
windings, or HV to gnd. You can see what I did to SS an HT-37 on my
website under "HT-37."
The best choices are to bite the bullet & get a Peter Dahl xfmr, it'll
never fail. I have one in my HT-32 that's used weekly, it's beautiful,
and barely gets warm. The 2nd is to use a Heath HP-23 externally. It is
an easy, reversible mod., I did it on the HT-37 b4 I got a replacement.
It works very well, several guys have done it. I can send you a copy of
the marked up skem if you'd like.
I can't help on the other needs, sorry. I hope these words aren't
taken as a discouragement, it'll be a neat rig when you get it done.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] HT32A Need Power Trans. and audio level knob
> Hello all...

> I purchased an HT32A and the ham that shipped it did an awful job of
packing and the audio knob and pot were ruined (that was the only serious
damage from shipment). I bought it knowing it had some type of problem
(Power Transformer). So....

> I'm in need of a power transformer for my HT32A. If anyone is "Parting
out" one of these beasts, or know where I might find one of these, please
let me know. I've emailed a couple of guys on the internet, that say they
rebuild these, but didn't get a response.

> ALSO, as mentioned, I need an audio level knob and the pot...either
one... or both would be fine!

> So, if anyone has either a knob, or the original pot and/or a working
power transformer for the HT32A, I would love to buy them!
