Hi Mike,
As Larry mentioned, there were a good many Hallicrafters sets made in Canada.
In fact, there were probably more what I like to call "consumer sets" made
there than communications models. The auction spots seem to be a good place to
view some of these sets and many that I have picked up for my collection are
from Canadian owners and were manufactured there.
At the AWA convention in Rochester a few years ago, I picked up an SC-77A.
The lettering is all white, but otherwise, it looks like any other S-77A except
for the "C' in the nomenclature. I have a Majestic manufactured S-38 also, but
except for a sticker on the back panel, it appears to be just another Chicago
model.
There is an interesting history there and hopefully others on the reflector
can add to our understanding of it.
73 and seasons greetings,
John, W4AWM
