It could be that the orange drops are just painted black beauties !! hi hi.

I have restored several National receivers lately and very much like the dark 
orange  XICON brand caps that Mouser and other sell. Their color is more 
subdued than the orange drops. 

Incidently, be careful with the damned markings on caps today. A cap marked 
"390" is NOT 390pf anymore but 39pf. The last zero means that there are no 
more zeros!!   A marking of 391 means 39 and one zero or in essence, 390. 
Supposedly this change was made because the decimal points were too small to see 
because the parts themselves are now too small - so all numbers are being used to 
designate values.  I got into trouble with this nonsense when an oscillator 
circuit wouldn't work after installing new  silver mica caps.
