Peter Dahl sells them for $7.95 apiece
(http://pwdahl.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=diodes&cart_id=6436559.23983)
-- or you can make your own with parts from Mouser (www.mouser.com) and
Antique Electronics Supply (www.tubesandmore.com).
One web page that contains instructions for making them is here:
http://users2.ev1.net/~wb7dyw/516F.htm . I don't know what rig you're
intending to us e these devices in, but beware of the fact that solid
state rectifiers, without dropping resistors and possibly a relay delay,
can give you some damaging overvoltages and initial surge currents.
There's another (much more elegant) version of these things, too.
They're called Weber Copper Caps (http://www.webervst.com/ccap.html).
