Hi All,
A few years back I bought a very late SX-62A that had a Seco
Model 540 External S meter wired into it. I later sold the radio but
kept the S meter. When I removed it I didn't make any notes where it was
hooked up in the radio (dumb idea!). A brief description of the 540. It
has an edgewise S meter with 2 pots (zero and sensitivity) on the top of
a small mini-box. It use a single C cell and 1 transistor (Hitachi
2SA17) It has 2 leads running to a small (44 or 47) pilot lamp to light
up the meter and a 3 wire cable with 2 conductors and a shield. The
shield is soldered to the back of the zero pot for common grounding.
Here is the question: where do the other 2 wires connect in a radio?
Anyone out there have one of these or any hookup info in their archives?
I'd like to add this to my recently restored SX-62A. Thanks for any
input.
