[Hallicrafters] HT-37 Alignment "Lessons Learned"

Hi all,
Good thoughts from both Pat & Rocco. I'll add one "gotcha," at least
one that got me 3-4 yrs ago. There's a note (#1 on the HT-37) schematics
that says the "dot" denotes that the front & back sides of one (or 2?)
bandswitch wafers are connected electrically, thru a rivet. I agonized
over an HT-32A which did fine on all bands exc. 20m. I did the close
visual inspection, after having drawn out the ckt connections at the
switch in the 20m position. One pad on one side of that wafer had rotated
on the rivet, and wasn't making connection. I'm not sure if I could find
that spot again now if I had to, my mind went to more than it's usual
blank after I got it working. I didn't want to look inside another HT-32
for months. I did try to remember it for Bill a few wks ago, maybe I'm
closer now, - or is it "further away from the problem" that helps it come
back?

Al, W8UT
