[Hallicrafters] Need Paint Source

Here is my "canned" response to this question that
comes up every few days.

Total Electronics is not supplying paint any more as
far as I can determine. Thus, you have to do what I
do when painting cabinets for clients. I have the
paint computer matched at Sherwin-Williams. So far,
every paint that I have had matched has been "right
on".

If your local store happens to be one of the relative
few that can load spray cans then the additional cost
is worth the money if you do not have some type of
paint gun. If not, then you will need a spray gun of
some sort unless what you need to "touch up" is just a
very small area an can be done with an artist's paint
brush.

I normally use latex acryllic in the satin finish
which pretty much duplicates what was on the radio
originally. My local stores will match and mix as
small a quantitiy as 1 quart. A quart runs from $10
to $11 depending on whether or not it is on sale. A
gallon runs about $33.

I have both an airless paint gun made by Wagner and a
compressor and air type paint gun made by Devilbiss.
Most of the time anymore I use the air gun because I
can control the paint flow more accurately.
