Here is a quoted e-mail I received today:
Duane are my emails being censored? Dan
Alan Waller, K3TKJ and I have been co-administrators of this list, and others,
ever since the change from 'majordomo' to 'mailman'. This is no secret, it is
clearly shown on the main page for this list on the 'mailman' web site. Why?
Because my screen reading software has problems with the Python language and
some code used for icon positioning that makes tracking for a screen reading
program unreliable.
Niether Al or I, have 'ever' censored mail to any list I have ever
administrated. I have never put any list I administrate on 'moderation', which
permits the list administrator to read every message, and approve it, before it
appears on the list. If a message is inappropriate it can be killed and simply
is not seen on the list.
If your post does not appear, the reason is not Al or I censoring it.
Now and then the reason is a problem with the 'mailman' system, but for the most
part, it is something you are doing. Such as tripping a spam or virus filter
somewhere, your ISP is having a problem, you are trying to post with an
attachment, typed an address incorrectly and so forth.
For example, if you put three or more blank spaces after the last character in
the subject field it will be rejected by the 'mailman' software as spam.
Every now and then one of the mail services, generally Juno or AOL, block all
mail from QTH.NET as being spam.
There are many reasons why you can not post, keep that in mind. However, the
reason is not now, nor has it ever been, nor shall it be, because I deleated
your message and did not allow it to post. I have always adhered to the
philosophy that subscribers are capable of self-censorship and thereby avoiding
the need for someone else to do it for them. With very rare exceptions, this has
been the case for the eight years I have been with QTH.NET
If you are having a problem posting, I will try to help you find the cause of
the problem. Keeping in your mind that 'censorship' is not one of them.
