[Hallicrafters] Tune In Global Glow Wednesday Evening

Please tune up those wonders that still go glow in the dark and join us for some
fun, facts, fibs and fellowship during the HCI Wednesday August 4th Global Glow
Roundtable. It will commence at/about 6:00 PM EDT, (2200 UTC) and last until
about 8:00 PM EDT, (2400 UTC). Longer if participants and propagation permit.
The frequency will be 14.315 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
whatever other various and sundry noises drift through the Ham shack window
screens from the hormonally enriched teenagers prowling the street howling like
a cat with its paw stuck in a meat grinder as they try to sing harmony to some
song on their portable CD player containing words I can neither say without
turning ten shades of red or spell! Not to worry, that bladder shaking
thunderous racket is not a bolt of lightning taking down the Crap Titan, again,
but a musically challenged youngster cruising the hood with the bass box shaking
the nuts out of the Hickory trees with Squirrels still attached! But it is
Summer, we used to be young and probably did dumb, dangerous and noisy things
too. Except our parents gave us a welt on the buttocks with a leather belt for
burning down the neighbor's garage who complained because our home-brew 100 Mw
transmitter added wavy lines on the old Capehart B/W TV while Lawrence Welk
played music and splattered the studio with champagne bubbles! Now the kids get
twenty bucks and told to go to the nearest arcade and shot something on a video
screen instead of the neighbor's pets!
