I have said it before, and do not mind saying it again. Overall this list is one
of the nicest collection of radio hobbyists anyone could find anywhere. Some
tremendous diversity with an incredible knowledge pool to draw upon. I thank all
who contribute for their sharing and ask those who answer privately to post it
here also.
Delighted you got your issues resolved George.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SX-111 Aligned

Good morning all,
I want to thank everyone for their help and patience in getting the SX-111
back on the bands. I couldn't have done it without that. I know in the big
scheme, aligning an SX-111 is no major feat, but for me it was. I lacked
the experience to do it right. The last rx I aligned sits on the shelf as a
dead reminder. It can be a later project. This one went from a soft, down
in the mud, backwards receiving, 20k or more off on every band scow anchor,
to a boat anchor I'm real pleased with. I was surprised to find the whole
tube set is Hallicrafters branded. Cleaning the pins made an overall
improvement. Since I started, I acquired a good signal gen that I didn't
think I needed. A truckload of experience ( from doing it over and over),
a ton of learning, plus a great feeling of satisfaction.
Again thanks to all, George KB2z
