I recently acquired a HT-37 that is going to be restoration project.
Overall it doesn't look that bad, but I think it was stored in a shed out
behind the barn for some time.  There is a collection of spider webs and
dead bugs in the chassis and some sign of water having leaked onto the top
of the chassis as there is some corrosion on top of some tubes from the
spring in the tube shield.

I have read at various times on this and other groups about chassis cleaning
by scrubbing with cleaner and water then drying in the oven at low
temperature.  Can someone provide me with a few more details of the
procedure?  I assume meters, knobs, and other plastic type materials have to
be removed before starting.  Do circuit components such as transformers,
coils, etc. need to be protected?

I plan to replace all of the electrolytic and paper capacitors.  I just
don't want to destroy some critical component; transformer, phase network,
etc.
