For those of you who celebrate Easter, let me wish you a very joy filled, family
oriented and spiritually mindful day. For those of you who do not, let me wish
you a very pleasant and happy weekend.
Please take a break from pushing a brightly colored hard boiled egg across the
floor with your nose while blindfolded to see if you can park it six inches from
the one foot tall milk chocolate rabbit with both ears bitten off by some
perverse human with a warped sense of humor to win the annual Easter prize of a
bag full of jelly beans having a liquid center of Brandy flavored to match the
exterior of said jelly bean. Remember the year when the family dog devoured the
special jelly beans, bag and all, while you were at Church? You arrived home to
find old Rover watering the imported Brazilian rubber plant in the hand spun
clay pot, with a smile on his lips and happily barking out the chorus to "Here
Comes Peter Cotton Tail, Hopping Down The Cyber Trail".
The pre-Net will commence at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC) with the sound of Uncle
Louie cracking hard boiled eggs on his bald head demonstrating the barren
terrain is good for something besides holding up his toupee! The Net proper will
begin at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC), with cousin Amanda, the extended families
animal rights activist, singing a stirring rendition of "Put on your Easter
bonnet, with that yeller stain from old Rover on it ...". Just wait, it gets
better! Not her shrieking, the Net.
The frequency will be 14.293 MHz usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
ear wax melting whails of the neighbor's wife who just discovered that the two
dozen eggs she tried to hard boil were made of plastic!
Join us for some Easter fun with those wonders that still go glow in the dark
and don't give off deadly radiation like those toys we used to send in a .90%
silver quarter and four hopefully empty Mr. Peanut bags for one of those glow in
the dark magic rings that allowed us to decode the 'secret' alien message
floating in the alphabet soup our mothers fed us. I hope to hear many of you
tomorrow, so get out of the kids, or grand kids Easter candy and join with us to
share some Hallicrafters tales.
