As long as the description is accurate, since the buyers set the
price, you can't steal on eBay. The price was fair and in the
future will seem low.
I've been musing over boatanchor investments for a while on:

Boatanchors have yet to reach fair market value. If those weird
Catalin radios can sell for thousands, tens of thousands of dollars,
then an SX-100 should be much more, fifty grand? A hundred grand?
I have about a dozen vintage radios including an SX-100 that a
fellow GAVE me, it was a few days after my birthday by coincidence.
He was tired of it and didn't want to send it to the landfill so he
posted a "Free to a good home" note on the company BBS. This one
works well, is stable and included a Lafeyette metal speaker and a
kit-external digital display.
Since then, I picked up a DX-60 from eBay to replicate a classic
1960's novice station.
