[Hallicrafters] FS: Nice S-38

For sale: a newly recapped, retubed and aligned S-38 (first model) in very
nice condition. Its metal bottom plate (not cardboard like the later models)
is intact. and an excellent repro back is included. The original AC cord has
been replaced by a new polarized one. The BFO injection is weak on strong
signals (an original design problem in many very early models), but it plays
beautifully with the usual amazing S-38 sensitivity.  I can send pictures
tonight if you need them. I'd rate the cabinet as very good with no dents.
The paint is intact except where it is worn through on teh upper left hand
front corner. The lettering is intact and I've cleaned and polished the dial
window. All the knobs are correct. It's a nice looking S-38.
