This ringing is probably normal, John. Sharp crystal filters affect the
waveshape of the incoming signal. Sharp audio filters are even worse!
Probably why DSP has become "the thing!" Extremely sharp filters on CW can
make the signal sound like just a wavering warble rather than on-off keying,
and make it very difficult to copy. If the 110 has a phasing control (I'm not
sure) you may be able to reduce the effect somewhat.

<When using the crystal filter, in either position but
especially in the sharp position, I hear a sort of
ringing or edge-of-feedback type of sound surrounding
voices. Almost like a microphonic sound, but it does
it even when the speaker is not sitting on the
cabinet. Is this normal or defect? Causes and
solutions??
Thanks,
John>
