Hello Folks!

I'm new to this list. I am excited! Last week I
found an SX-110 at a church rummage sale. This is the
best vintage radio I have had the good fortune to find
in this way. It appears to be totally original and
came with the speaker, manual, and Trimm headphones.
I brought it up on a variac extra slowly over about 2
days, and spent about a week cleaning out the
accumulated grime of 40+ years, inside and out. Most
of it came off with just a damp cloth. It cleaned up
beautifully. I cleaned out the pots and switches
also.

It seems to work fine and gets lots of stations on the
long wire that also came with it, so it looks like my
efforts are rewarded. This radio is a fine piece of
US craftsmanship.

I have a stupid question. In the process of cleanup,
I unclipped the illuminating lamp holder for the
S-meter and cannot figure out exactly where it goes
back. All of the pictures I have seen on the web show
a view that hides this lamp so do not help. Can
anyone describe where this clips on for me? Or send
me a digital photo taken from the meter end? As I
have it clipped now the meter is not illuminated very
well. Maybe this is normal. Thanks much for your
help!
