Just discovered this list, and I'm looking forward to being a member.
This past weekend I picked up a almost mint S-53A. This baby is clean inside and
out, and plays like a champ. I'm listening to 40m cw on it as I'm typing this.
The only problem is the Main Tuning & Bandspread knobs are chipped. Is there
anywhere I can pick up a good set? Anyone got some???
Also in the shack is a SX-140 and HT-40 pair, they both work, and I'm not
planning on cleaning them up. I used a SX-140 as a Novice.
Also under the bench is a dead S-38B, its next in line for cleaning/repair soon
as I get my current project done which is cleaning up a old Ameco AC-1 and
teaming it up with the S-53A.
I get a kick out of old Novice type stations. Well, got to go back to my
project. Now about those tuning knobs?????
Thanks guys!
