[Hallicrafters] Searchable Index to Archives

As a relative newbie to this form, and finding it as incredibly useful
as I have in starting my SX-42 restoration, I wanted a better way to
locate things in the archive (at least in the index). I have copied the
Archive Index to both .DOC (MS Word) and .RTF (rich text formats) which
makes them keyword searchable (by Word, Word Reader or other programs)
and still maintains the ability to actually link to the original item
(using CTRL+rightclick). This goes from the earliest items to the end
of August 2003.
If any of you are interested in receiving a copy of this file (.DOC =
2.7mb, .RTF= 3.9mb) I would be happy to forward it on. I gather the
list server doesn't allow attachments so I'd create a distribution list
and use it. If there is a lot of interest I'll see if there is even a
more efficient way (maybe provide a way for everyone to FTP it to
themselves). I'll try to update the list every month or so but no
promises.
Because the actual archive has a lot of preamble junk & headers to it,
it is not very useful to try to search directly (although may work on
that). I have removed some of the extraneous text in the index
([Hallicrafters:], [FWD:], [RE:], .) as well as the various "test"
messages.
Send me your email address if interested in a copy
