Please roll those lumpy cakes out of bed on Sunday September 7th and join us for
the HCI 20 meter Net. Some people are having hurricanes, others tornadoes and
still others cyclones. Hallicrafters had all three in their product line.
Question: why did Hallicrafters decide to name this trio of transceivers the
storm series and why these three volatile weather condition names? Did they plan
to take the Ham world by storm and to blow the competition away and drown out
other companies product release announcements? Pour yourself a cup of coffee, or
make some hot tea, do some research, and join us.

The pre-Net is at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC). The Net proper is at 1:15 PM EDT,
(1715 UTC). The frequency is 14.293 Mhz usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter
and the unmistakable sound of the three little pigs from Porky's House Of Chops
trying to huff and puff and blow your R-25g tower down. Just because you happen
to be a Ham does not mean you must be the butt of neighborhood jokes about the
guy with sausage links dangling from his trees and all those weird antennas
really being a secret weapon being tested by the government to roast sheep on
the mountaintops in Tibet with microwaves and not singe their wool! Nobody is
going to pull any wool over their eyes or shrink their loin cloths!

Join us for some vintage fun, facts, fellowship and finger food. You can't eat
with a metal fork with a good vacuum tube transmitter spitting out some rf into
the atmosphere, unless you want your tongue to glow in the dark and the metal
fillings in your teeth to pop out like exploding kernels of corn!

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, so be there! I am not worth a N. Korean
dung coin when it comes to lip reading, so be sure to give your call
phonetically and not with those hand signs you learned while in the boy's locker
room when growing up!
