I have been having a blast, audio that is, with vintage audio as of late. I know
practically nothing about the audio equipment that Hallicrafters produced in
either the fifties or the sixties. I would very much like those of you who know
about these pieces of gear to post what you know here on the list to educate
those of us with curious minds.

There have been questions about the Hallicrafters audio and stereo gear suddenly
popping up on several lists and on the HCI Nets as well. Now you guys know the
old blind dude is an audio nut, (notice I said 'audio nut', not just nut!), and
he would kiss Frogzilla smack on those slimy swamp green lips of his for a piece
of audio gear made by Hallicrafters. (With my luck today which was on a scale of
ten a negative digit, one of you will send me a Hallicrafters stereo amp just so
you can get a digital image of me having to kiss that uglier than a wart on a
lizard's rump and put it on CNN!) What do you know about the RMX-2000?

I am serious here now, yes, I do have those moments of rational lucidity. So
tell me, and all, about the stereo gear that Hallicrafters manufactured and
sold, or designed but never marketed.

And if any of you are ever in my area, come on by and I will let you hear some
vintage audio, using vintage vinyl, vintage reel to reel tape, vintage
amplifier, vintage tuner, vintage turntable and vintage speakers, all played by
a vintage blind dude! What's more, I will even give you a glass of Coke using a
vintage Coke glass I borrowed from one of those drive-in restaurants that used
to bring trays to your car and afix them to your window glass with rubber tipped
feet that braced it up against the side of the door. How many of you borrowed
one of those classic A&W root beer mugs, heh?
