Dear Ian:
I just had the same problem....mine was corrected by using Deoxit on the band switch (and the others while I was in there), and cleaning the contacts on the TR relay..
Brought it back to full output on all bands.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] No output 40/10m ht-32b
Pulled the chassis out tonight to clean a sticky tx relay and bandswitch,
and now I have no output in any mode on 40 and very minimal output on 10m
(less than one watt from what I can tell) I can attempt to tune 10m
although it seems as though I run out of range using the driver tune
control. There is no needle movement on 40 anywhere within the driver and
final tune ranges. 80, 20, and 15 all tune up as before, to full output.
Cycled the bandswitch just in case some dirt may have gotten lodged but no
change. I will be pulling the chassis again tomorrow to look some more, but
was wondering if anyone had any specific places to look.
Thanks
