Hi Ron - Raymond Lowey did design the cabinet for the first S-38
receiver. Don't know about the SX-42. My source is a book called
"Streamlining in America" , a book I bought at the Henry Ford museum
about 15 years ago which has several pages on Lowey and shows the S-38
and mentions Hallicrafters. Two other Lowey favorites of mine are the
first postwar Studebakers and the Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 electric
locomotive which most rail fans know well.
