I have to agree. As the original poster, I was shocked and quite
surprised
that this site was so rigid with subject matter that no deviation is
allowed beyond a few replies to off subject material.

Touched a raw nerve, eh?
Duane, over the years you have applied this double standard many times.
I'm just pointing one case out. Not as a flame, but as a point of
observation. Be it Frogs or Squirrels, or disabilities, yours or others,
you, probably unknowingly, apply a double standard. If it revolves
around you, you don't see a problem. If someone else brings up a similar
topic, you are right there to stifle it.
Case in point: You very often bring up your handicaps and solicit
special help. That is fine and acceptable, I believe we should help each
other out and lend support as needed. But you also continually use the
various reflectors to tell us all about your health and legal problems.
These are far off topic but compassion decrees that we read through your
comments and lend support as appropriate. But some time ago, a fellow
ham posted a note that he was handicapped and was looking for an S-38.
All he did was say he was handicapped and couldn't afford to spend too
much, so hoped someone would help him out with a reasonably priced S-38.
You immediately jumped all over him for playing on his handicap to get
cheap gear and even surmised that he wasn't handicapped at all but just
a rip-off artist. Yet you yourself had asked for special treatment in
the past, specifically because of your handicaps. That is a "double
standard". I had overlooked your indiscretions in the past but this
particular incident was the final straw. I now feel it appropriate to
point out your "double standards" where they appear.
Before you chastise someone else, stop, look, and see if you haven't
done something similar. If you are honest with yourself, you will find
many similarities and maybe it will prevent many hard feelings.
When you stop applying "double standards" I will no longer have anything
to point out. Isn't that simple?
