[Hallicrafters] HT-37 low voltage rectifier

Wouldn't replacing the old tube rectifier with a solid state 
unit send the B+ voltage soaring?  Way above what the tube
rectifier would have delivered?  If so, wouldn't one have to
replace all the resistors in the rig to compensate for the
higher voltage?

Hi Riley,
    I'd suspect a problem with that SS plug-in.  Diodes in backward, or
shorted, or perhaps wired to pin 8 instead of pin 2, or pins 2 & 8 shorted
together.  Sounds like the filament winding may be shorted by pins 2 & 8
of the SS unit.  I wonder why someone said not to do the LV section?
