HEY GUYS I RECENTLY SOLD WORKING A S-METER FOR A SX-100 AND THIS IS WHAT THE
GUY WHO GOT IT SAYS. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? IT WORKED PERFECTLY WHEN I SENT
IT.
The zero set screw behind the "h" is completely missing and it appears the
movement may be messed up. The needle "swings" when the meter is lightly
jostled, like the old iron-vane meters that were used in the early Heathkit
DX-20s. These meters shouldn't do that. It is not properly damped, which
probably says one of the springs is broken. It also sticks, which says
either the spring is broken as above, or that the jewel bearings are bad.
FROM WHAT I SAW THIS TYPE METER USES A LEVEL NOT A SET SCREW. THANKS GUYS
DAN
