Hello all
I am a budding HAM and I am building my station. I have an HT-40, but it has a couple of problems that I thought I could bounce off of the gurus for ideas. Into a dummy load, I am hearing annoying key clicks on my receiver using CW. In addition, the CW signal drops in frequency when you hold down the key. Lastly, when tuning, I find that both the plate loading and plate tuning knobs end up approaching the minimum settings contrary to the manual when tuning the HF bands. Good thing I acquired this rig for cheap! If worst comes to worse, can any of you recommend a Hallicrafters specialist who does repairs? About all I did to it was re-tube it and install some new rectifier diodes to repair a patch job from an earlier owner. Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to keep this little bugger since it is so simple and I have about 50 crystals. Thanks in advance. ==Bill King==
