The FCC Notice only allows USB and a narrow signal not 3Kcs. So far the FCC
has told us to put our USB signal lower that the frequency to make the
middle of the signal be on the frquency
listed. Please no CW, AM, SSTV, RTTY, PSK31 wtc.
We will share these freqs with the government (the emergency responders) and
that is where the
emergency idea came from. However the 5 listed frequencies will be for
normal ham chatter.
If we do it right (no spreading out, no fights, no other modes) then the
government agencies will
look at giving us more room.
The FCC and government will give the ARRL a set of rules required to use the
band in the USA. NO one can use the band until the ARRL publishes these and
puts out an official bulletin. The rules will also be in QST, CQ, on the
ARRL web page, and in the ARRL Letter. Copies will also appear in many club
newsletters and Dx new sheets such as OPDX which is a weekly Dx bulletin
published in Ohio.
I will be using a half square for 75 so I have to figure out and plot where
I have gain over a dipole.
Remember this is a requirement unless you use a dipole.
