Hi Guys;

Not to be picky, just being picky. As I understand it, the 5 MC band is 5
channels. Since it takes at least 2 hams for a QSO that is 10. Two per
channel. In a round table or net, it would be even more. However, your
point is well taken. It is a very narrow band. Re channelization; I have
been a commercial operator since I got my first class telephone license
in 1953. Most, if not all, commercial stations are assigned one or more
channels. It might be better to have channels than have splatter all over
the band from guys operating 1 or 2 kc from you. Like commercial radios,
if the channel is busy, you wait. Like you, I will monitor the band and
see what transpires. Thanks for your time.
