Bob says:
"plus some other receivers including
an old RBO (Scott?) sit unused on shelves. They all work but haven't
been
turned on by me in several years. They were used at one time or another
during my teens to middle 30's. Just never got rid of them & don't plan
to.
Theres nothing wrong with keeping 10 to 15 (or more) old receivers
around
while you listen to mainly one or two of them..."
Bob, I've printed the above quote in large font and placed it between
the National shelf and Hammarlund shelf number two. Another copy at
each end of the Hallicrafters tiers. This is all for benefit of my
wonderful spouse who no longer has to wonder if this gathering of
receivers affliction is common only to this area (my neighbor WQ9E has
the same symptoms).
At one point I attempted to rotate all of the boatanchors to the
operating positions now and then, but current on the air time slot
limitations just do not provide the opportunity to keep everything fired
up in rotation. At the moment, my only two goals for retirement are to
have time to play with ALL the radios and have the coin to pay the
electric bill to keep them fired up.
