<<I want to hook up a mic to my HT-37........Is a Dynamic mic a high
impedance mic?>>

As Glen pointed out, most dynamic mics are Hi Z, but most dynamic mics used
in the broadcast industry are Lo Z. Some have impedance changing switches on
them, others can be changed by the wiring in the connector and still others are
permanent Lo Z instruments.

You didn't mention what mic you were using, but if it is a totally Lo Z, you
should try to find a Shure A86A In Line transformer. This is a really neat
impedance matching tranny that goes in series with the mic line. It is well
shielded and eliminates the need for a mickey mouse inpedance matching setup.

Best place to look for one is....believe it or not....a music store that
sells band equipment and PA systems. I have never seen one at a hamfest or it
wouuld be mine. I only have one and it works well with an EV-635 broadcast
dunamic that I have used for years.

73 and good luck,

John, W4AWM
