Temperature compensating capacitors are usually used to compensate for the
drift of all component in the tuned circuit that might change value over
temperature. Air wound coils are usually the item that changes the most
that needs compensating. NPO capacitors do not change value over temperature.
Temp compensating caps come in different degrees of compensation depending
on the amount of compensation you need. N250, N750, N1500.....Sometimes
a circuit with a combination is used to get the amount of compensation required.
