[Hallicrafters] More cruising

It was the precdecssor to spread spectrum.   Or "dual diversity with one 
receiver?"  

At the risk of offending Hallicrafters "no wrong can be done" fans, I once 
thought of mounting my S85 on two concrete blocks with two more on top of it, 
but did not do so because I was afraid my table would collapse, with the weight 
of the blocks plus the the homebrew power supply for the 7 MHZ ARC-5.  The 
supply, made from "available" parts at the Army surplus store, was nearly the 
size of the S85.  The blocks probably would not have helped, anyway.  

The term was not "drift" - it was "jump."  With luck, after a bit of drifting, 
a squirrel in a nearby tree could drop a nut and the receiver would "jump" back 
onto frequency.  At least, that was my plan.  The squirrel did not cooperate.
