[Hallicrafters] HT-18/S-53A Station

Darn...I hit reply on the wrong message and instead of not posting, I sent
it to the wrong individual as well. <sigh> And it isn't even after 3:00 AM.

It would be my opinion that if you like the combination and enjoy the
challenge it would be an excellent station.  "Back in the old days" I worked
many a station with a pair of home brew 6L6sand 6AG7
oscillator/multiplier/buffer and a super regen (3 tube)
receiver.  It sure wasn't any where near the ease of use we have today but
it worked.  After that I used an S40B with a DX40 and then a Globe Scout.
Again, not the best, but they made many a contact.

So, if you enjoy using a piece of history and the challenge, it's a great
station.  If you want more like todays performance it would be a
disappointment.
