[Hallicrafters] SX-28 competitors in the 1940's

Barry, Gary, et al,
Another of the AR-88 series is the Army Signal Corps version of the SC-88
(R-320/FRC). It has band in use masking. Other than that, it is supposed
to be the same as the SC-88. Mine is a 1949 contract. I can find very
little information on this receiver. The tech manual is TM 11-899. That's
about all I know. Is there anyone out there with any more knowledge about
this receiver?
