There is a third way: your irate wife throws you in the deep end after feeding
you a heavy meal!

There are two way to learn how to swim.
You step down the stairs in the shallow end very
slowly and carefully.
Or there's my way, you get on the diving board and
jump in the deep end.

This is about the way I am getting into radio restorations.
(My poor Wife).
For some reason, I have been drawn to Hallicrafters.

I just picked up a S-19R Sky- Buddy that looks like it
was kept in a storage shed for a long time. The inside is
horribly filthy. It's some kind of soot or something similar.

Short of running thru the dishwasher (or car wash) how
do you get that kind of grime cleaned up?

Obviously, I can clean the tubes and cabinet interior,
but what do you do to clean all the components and
wiring on the underside of the chassis?

Any help, hints or kinks would be greatly appreciated.
Also any other 'coaching' is welcome.

Thanks! de W0TLO
John
