[Hallicrafters] troouleshooting circuitry

Hi Folks.  I am wondering if there is a web site that
is dedicated to understanding superheterodyne circuits
in Hallicrafters radios.  Sort of a troubleshooting
course for newbies.  I don't have a particular model
in mind because I am working on acquiring my first
radio.
I've tried studying Johnson's book on antique radio
repair and it's good, but I have questions.  I tried
following the circuits of a "fiver" schematic,but am
getting confused.  Any sugestions? thanks.
