Thank you for your responses. I purchased the radio back in June and it did not operate at that time. All of the caps were original with the exception of the filter caps, at least one of them. I am going to replace all of the electrolytics at this stage, hopefully using the old cans to contain the more modern looking ones. I have gone over Phils notes at least a half dozen times, comparing them to the photos he has listed and also comparing them to my radio. I think that I will go for the "total recap". I plan to use the receiver on a very regular basis and hope this will give it an extended life. I do have a signal generator to help in an alignment, but being a "newbie", I really don't have a great amount of knowledge about that and I think that I will let my friend Frank handle the duties. I will keep you posted on my progress, or lack of it. Thank you for your valued help.
