Subject: [Hallicrafters] rebuilding caps.

I want to know something. I have replaced several metal can
electrolytics in hallicrafters and keept the old ones to rebuild latter.
I am running out of nos caps and want to rebuild them. What is the best
way to get that darn black tar out of those cans?? Heating them up
really stinks and makes a mess, and sometime they catch on fire! If i
can clean them up easily i will put tube caps inside, and put them back
on the shelf. Thanks in advance. 73 rick
