Glenn is quite correct.   I've owned both (currently the Mark 1), 
and it is much better.

An easy way to tell -- Look at the back of the radio.  If you see
a large can capicator in the center,  it is NOT the Mark 1 version;  
The Mark 1 has the additional tube where the cap is on the
earlier version.
