Hi Tracy:
 
Saw your note about wanting to buff out plastic and remembered seeing ads for products that buffed scratches out of plexiglass windshields.  Did a quick search on windshield polish and the link below was one of the first hits.  You might check with your local airport or even a shop selling windshield fairings for motorcycles.
