Hi Group,

In case you didn't know, each of the big 3 parcel handlers, UPS, USPS and
Fed-EX all have on line rate calculators. All you need is a ruler and a
reasonably accurate bathroom scale. You can get every bit of the rate info
you need from these sites so only one trip to the shipper is needed. The
address for these is:
<A HREF="www.insertnamehere.com">www.(insertnamehere).com</A>

As far as packing material is concerned, I usually drive around the back of
the shopping center when I go there. You will usually find a host of boxes
and materials free for the taking. I have found folks out there several
times on my "adventures" and asked them if taking the stuff presented any
problem. I have never been refused, and more than once, my station wagon was
loaded for me!

About the only other thing I do otherwise is occasionally pick up a bundle
of foam board for the big heavy stuff. This I do when I happen to be at Home
Despot or similar supply company. It is not that expensive and with a box
cutter and a few minutes time, you can turn out a really professional packing
job that works as good as it looks.

73,

John, W4AWM
