Hello Gang,
There is another little bit of underhandedness that is going on both in the
auction business and even on the reflectors: You get charged X amount for
shipping and the package arrives marked "MEDIA RATE." This service is
available through the Post Office and is supposed to be for printed matter
only which fite a certain criteria. So far, I have personally received some
tube, hardware and 2 receivers so marked. In doing this, the shipper makes
money, but he/she also risks arrest for postal fraud. In addition to that,
scofflaws who do things like that are sticking it to the U. S. P. S.
I remember when it cort 1 cent to send a QSL card. How much money have you
spent on cards not sent through the bureau in the last few years? Then too,
there is always the chance that the rate could be abolished which will
result
in costing leagal users a very large amount of money. Think about it!
I can't make up my mind if I should report this to the Postal Inspectors or
not, but I suspect it is being done a lot more than it might appear.

John, W4AWM
