I had a bucket of distilled water and a small sponge handy.  Wiped down
after each step.  No problems with the set.  If you do not let the stuff
soak
there are no problems.  I have used this stuff on a lot of chassis with no
problems.  And it will not hurt aluminum if washed off.  No need for
panic, the set has a hundred more years left in it.  All is well when
used in moderation.
