You 409'd it and then covered the tube sockets? Hope you didn't soak
them. Make sure there's no residue of 409 on the sockets. I don't
recall offhand -- but I think there are a mix of ceramic and bakelite
tube sockets. Important to avoid soaking the ceramics and any phenolic
with 409 or similar cleaners. Some guys get away with it, some report
arcing when the salts they leave behind turn the insulators into
conductors at high voltages.

Rainman says "shiney, very shiney", but too shiney. Quick, go put it in
the garage for a week -- close to door, so it will regain it's dull
patina. heh heh. Looks great.

Maybe you should have the front panel chrome plated? Seriously, there
are some out there like that -- a special limited run of them or owners
did it after the fact. With that fancy grain in the metal the're
reminscent of a chrome collector's series firearm. But of course, that's
an additional cost item.
OK, now I gotta go find that polish you bought. Except I'm going to need
a 55 gallon drum of it.
