[Hallicrafters] Help with parts for an SX-101 (any variant)

Hi Ed,

One person already checked his receiver and it had slugs in the two coils in
question. It is also shown that way on the schematic and called out in the
alignment instructions. The antenna trimmer is centered when the alignment
is started, and the input is terminated in 50 ohms resistive from the
generator. It appears that the antenna trimmer is used on this receiver just
to cancel any reactance that the antenna presents to the receiver. If the
antenna is resistive, no adjustment of the trimmer is necessary as you tune
across the band. The thing tracks like a dream on the bands where all the
parts are present and accounted for!

It looks like I have been fortunate and someone has a set of slugs or coils
that they can spare, so it should work on 40 & 20 as well as it does on the
other bands!

73's,

Mark  W1MJG

Hi mark, again;

Since they are antenna coils, maybe they are tuned by an antenna trimmer
on the front panel.
