Hi Art;
Some thoughts: Make certain your oscillator injection is on the right
side. At high frequencies it is easy to get it on the wrong side.
Try rocking your osc coil and lo freq ant and mixer coils for max
background noise as you tune it lower in freq. If you can get noise at 27
mc you can go to the generator and finish the alignment. In some badly
mis-aligned receivers I have successfully peaked these adjustments at the
lo freq end and go from there. They usually come out pretty close.
Oscillator tracking is interactive between the lo freq coil and the hi
freq trimmer, You have to go back and forth several times until both ends
are correct. Good luck.
