[Hallicrafters] SR-400A Cyclone III

Ken,

I have one and love it. Look for one in good shape physically if you can
find one. The HA 20 remote VFO is nice to have, but the SR-400A has RIT and
you can get away without one. The original matching power supply is the way
to go.

You should obtain the manual and perform an alignment. The alignment is a
bit challenging but usually needed.

Also - the radio should have the cooling fan, and it should not be too loud.

Good luck. They are wonderful rigs on the air - very high performance for a
vintage transceiver when properly aligned. Yes, there is a bit of drift,
but less than many tube rigs.

73,

Rocco N6KN
