HI Wayne,
I did the same thing you did to my SX-100 dials. To the rescue came Lynn
Brock N0ALO and his dials.
He developed an overlay that goes on the front of dials that looks exactly
like the original screening.
Suggest you send him the dials and let him apply them. I also suggest you do
BOTH dials, as the stark black and white of the new overlay will make the
other dial look shabby and gray.
Lynn does fantastic work and is a real gentleman.
I have purchased a number of his Hallicrafters dials and have been very
happy with all of them.
His web page is here
http://www.angelfire.com/ks3/n0alo/#Dials and his email address is
n0alo at kans.com
Good luck with your SX-100, hope this info helps.

Gang, I know the chances are slim to none...but I have to ask.
Does anyone know where I might find the bandspread frequency dial i.e.
the big round black disc ...the one with the readout of the ham band
sections - (no, I'm not looking for the bandspread knob :)) for the
SX-100? ---- I won't get into the ugly story of how mine was ruined (a
little cleaning didn't seem like a bad idea at the time ).
I'm willing to pay a more than fair price for this item...Come on
gang...make my day and pull your junker SX-100 out and tear out that dial
that and sell it to me. Someone out there must have one. I might even
come over and wash your car, as an extra incentitive (but you might not
want to ask me to clean your radios)!
I also have some Hallicrafters stuff to trade for this disc... if that
is your wish. I'll be waiting by the computer...probably until the
next sunspot cycle.
Thanks Guys!
