Like Ken, I've had good results using Novus #1,#2 and #3 on clear plastic.
On black and brown bakelite parts (knobs) I like to first use plain old soap
and water with a toothbrush and round wooden toothpick to clean most of the
gunge out of the grooves. A product called "303" when used with a
toothbrush gets the black or brown parts looking just like new. It's
available at auto supply stores like Lordco or from shops which specialize
in products for Recrecational Vehicles. I've used it on an all black
Universal multimeter, the black knobs on my Halli SX-99 and on the big brown
bakelite tuning knobs on an early 20's USL. The parts I did look great on
all three. Hope this helps. Best regards to the group.
