Let me once again request, that those of you replying in private PLEASE post
this information to the entire list.
Wayne: go to the HCI web site and use the search engine to go through the
Hallicrafters archives for information on this very problem. I recall it was
discussed about 14-18 months ago. The archives retain posts for up to thirty
months.
I also recall there were several solutions for this problem set forth. Good
luck! If all else fails, please contact me direct. I will put the question out
on air for you.

I don't see any other reply on this, so here goes my thoughts. I don't have
an SX-100, but on my old SX-42 (and most similar boat-anchors) you'll find
that the S Meter works ONLY when the AVC is on. That being the case, it's
possible that your switch may be mounted "upside-down" so that the markings
read exactly the opposite of what they should!
The simple answer often is the real answer!

the S-Meter that I hope someone can help me with. The S meter seems to work
fine with the AVC in the off position. When the AVC switch is turned on,
the S meter goes dead. Any ideas out there? Thanks!Wayne K7NCE
